VPCM introduces Walnut Blasting Decarboniser at dealerships

VPCM introduces Walnut Blasting Decarboniser to clean carbon build up

Volkswagen Passanger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has announced a unique method to engine carbon build up with walnuts. That’s right. Walnuts. The Walnut Blasting Decarboniser is a new aftersales service that is recognised approved by Volkswagen AG.

Of course, they’ll won’t be hurling the whole nut into the engine, but instead with pressurised crushed walnut powder. Its hard enough to remove carbon build up, but soft enough not to eat into metal surfaces.

The thing about newer direct injection engines is that fuel is sent directly into the combustion chamber. While more conventional port injection engines has fuel sprayed into the intake ports. This means that the former will not enjoy the full benefits from the cleaning properties from fuel additives.

This causes the build up of black soot hardening around the intake ports. Like a blocked artery, this causes airflow restriction which results in lost of power, and increased fuel consumption. Thus, this leads to other issues such as poor idling and acceleration, engine misfire and knocking.

VPCM advises owners to decarbonise the engines of their Volkswagen vehicles above 45,000 km. The new aftersales service is a preventitive measure and currently available at all authorised dealerships in Malaysia.
