Lamborghini Urus SE launched, from RM1m (before duties)

Lamborghini Urus SE is Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid

The Lamborghini Urus SE is now in Malaysia. This is the first plug-in hybrid from Lamborghini and is the fastest production SUV in its segment. The Urus SE goes from zero to hundred time of 3.4 seconds. It does zero to two hundred in 11.2 seconds. The top speed is 312km/h.

The Urus SE has an all-electric range of up to 60 kilometres. The electric motor produces up to 189bhp and 483Nm of torque. Along with the 4.0-litre V8, twin-turbo engine that produces 611bhp and 800Nm of torque, the combined maximum output is 788bhp and 950Nm of torque. The motor is powered by a 25.9kWh Lithium ion battery. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic.

The plug-in hybrid has the updated Urus body. There are new under-body air vents and revamped air ducts to channel more airflow to cool the mechanical and engine components: a 15 per cent increase over the original Urus. Other new features include:

  • new floating design bonnet
  • new matrix LED headlights with brand-new light signature
  • redesigned bumper and front grill.

The new design front section and optimised underside aerodynamics has improved air cooling to the braking system by 30 per cent. At the rear, the redesigned tailgate has Gallardo-inspired “Y” tail lamps. There is also a new rear diffuser. The diffuser provides 35 per cent more rear downforce compared to the Urus S.

The external dimensions of the Super SUV are the same: 5123mm long with a wheelbase of 3003mm. The width is 2022mm, the height 1683mm. There is air suspension. The ground clearance of the Urus SE varies depending on the drive mode. The adjustment range is between 15mm in Corsa and up to 75 mm, for the lifting system. Standard rims are 21-inch and there are also updated 23” Galanthus rims. Standard tyres are Pirelli P Zero, available for 21-inch to 23-inch rims.

For handling stability, there is front and rear torque vectoring and electronically-controlled limited-slip differential at the rear.

There are 11 drive modes, chosen through the “tamburo” selector. Six are Urus driving modes while four are for the hybrid powertrain. The modes are Strada, Sport, and Corsa modes for road and track use. The Neve, Sabbia, and Terra modes (for surfaces with a different grip than asphalt) are now accompanied by the EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge options. Recharge is available in Strada, Sport, Corsa and Neve modes. It recharges up to 80 per cent of the battery while maintaining performance.

Inside, there are redesigned airvents and new Y-shaped anodised aluminium trim. The new, larger, 12.3-inch infotainment monitor has upgraded interface software. There are also new panel, seat and dashboard covering with a mechanical pushbutton panel. The digital instrument cluster also measures 12.3-inches and displays information for the driving assistance system.

There are over 100 exterior paint colours with two new colours. There is Arancio Egon (orange), with Arancio Apodis (orange) interior, and also Bianco Sapphirus (white) with Terra Kedros (terracotta) interior. For the interior, there are 47 colour combinations and four types of embroidery (Q-citura stitching). There is also the Ad Personam programme for more customisation options.

The Lamborghini Urus SE is RM 1,028,000 before taxes, duties and customisation. More details at //www.lamborghini.com/en-en/dealerships/lamborghini-kuala-lumpur#showroom
