Deliveries from BMW and MINI, and BMW Motorrad motorbikes came to 11,567 in total
BMW Group Malaysia has released their sales figures for 2019: 11,567 vehicles in total. This comprised 9300 BMW cars, 1142 vehicles from the MINI marque and 1125 motorcycles from BMW Motorrad.
Of the 9300 cars sold, the top selling model was the BMW 3 Series. Of the 2514 units delivered, over 1000 were the 330e M Sport. The BMW 5 Series was the next most popular with over 2000 new owners.
The best selling range was the BMW X models with almost 4000 SUVs delivered. The BMW X3 was the leading model with 1354 units delivered, followed by the BMW X1 (1331 units). Third, at 975 units was the BMW X5 xDrive40e which accounted for 24 per cent of the total BMW X deliveries.
The MINI Countryman was the most popular MINI model in 2019. The 685 units sold made up more than half the total deliveries. Meanwhile BMW Motorrad delivered 1125 new motorbikes of which more than 600 were from the Adventure segment.
2019 was a bumper year for electrified vehicles for BMW Group Malaysia. Four electrified models were launched: the BMW 330e M Sport, the BMW X5 xDrive40e, the BMW i3 S and the BMW 530e M Sport. Of the total cars and motorcycles delivered last year, 3,148 were electrified BMWs and MINIs, making BMW the leading e-mobility provider in Malaysia.
Meanwhile BMW Group Malaysia added to the charging infrastructure nationwide with the introduction of 18 additional BMW i Charging Facilities across Malaysia. This brings to 30, the total number unveiled nationwide over the last three years.
Globally, the BMW Group reported its ninth consecutive record year in 2019, with a total of 2,520,307 vehicles delivered. The BMW brand reported a new all-time high last year, with a total of 2,168,516 delivered worldwide. Worldwide MINI brand deliveries totalled 346,639 units last year, while BMW Motorrad delivered 175,162 motorcycles to new owners.
