The new Isuzu mu-X seven-seater SUV has been launched with updates to the vehicle, both inside and out.
Key changes are the new front grille and blue spectrum bi-LED projector headlights, new LED tail lamps, six airbags, new soft touch interior, the addition of Hill Descend Control, new 18″ alloys and a new paint option, Havana Brown.
The blue-spectrum LED headlights are to reduce driver fatigue and improve vision at night. They are also equipped with LED Daytime Running Lights and an auto-levelling function to adjust the height of the headlamps when carrying cargo.
The mu-X interior has been upgraded with a new multi-information electroluminescent instrument cluster, cream coloured quilted leather seats, wood pattern trim on the doors and dashboard, and a new eight-speaker infotainment system. In the four-wheel drive version, there’s an eight-inch touchscreen monitor with a drop down monitor for the rear passengers to watch DVDs. The two-wheel drive variant comes with a seven-inch DVD touchscreen.
Unchanged in the mu-X is the engine and transmission combination of the 2.5-litre VGS Turbo Intercooler diesel engine paired with a five-speed automatic gearbox. Driving safety aids, now enhanced with Hill Descend Control, include ABS, traction control, electronic stability control, electronic brake-force distribution, brake assist and hill-start assist. In addition, there are now six airbags, an increase from just two previously.
Available in four colours, Havana Brown Mica, Silky White Pearl, Titanium Silver Metallic and Cosmic Black Mica, the 4X4 mu-x is RM179,000 while the 4X2 variant is RM172,640. Both prices are on-the-road without insurance.
