2026 BYD Sealion 7 now with three variants, faster charging and improved range, up to 650km (NEDC)
BYD Sime Motors has launched the 2026 BYD Sealion 7. The D-segment EV SUV has been upgraded for 2026 and there are now three trim levels with the addition of the entry-level rear-wheel drive Dynamic at RM163,800, making the Sealion 7 more affordable. As before, there is the rear-wheel drive Premium, now RM188,888 and the top-of-the-range all-wheel drive Performance at RM203,888.
Enhancements to the Premium and the Performance include a larger 91.39kWh battery, faster DC charging speeds at 230kW and improved NEDC driving range of up to 650km (approx, 560km WLTP range) for the Premium and 600km (approx. 520km WLTP range) for the Performance. DC fast charging for both Premium and Performance, from 30% to 80%, takes around 18.5 minutes.
The Premium produces 230kW (308hp) and 380Nm of torque. 0-100km/h takes 6.9 seconds. The Performance produces 390kW (523hp) of power and 690Nm of torque. 0-100km/h is 4.5 seconds
The Dynamic has an NEDC range of 520km (approx. 440km WLTP range). The battery is 71.8kWh. DC charging is up to 110kW and it takes 21.5 mins to recharge from 30% to 80%. Power is 170kW or 228bp and 380Nm of torque with a sprint time to 100km/h of 7.3 seconds.
The Sealion 7 is 4830mm long, 1925mm wide and 1620mm high with a 2930mm wheelbase. The suspension is double wishbone in front and multi-link at the rear. The boot capacity for both the Premium and Performance has increased to 520L, expandable to 1789L with the rear seats folded. Meanwhile, the luggage capacity for the Dynamic is 500L and up to 1769L. There is also a 56L front trunk in all three variants.
The three variants have almost identical exteriors. Differentiating features are 19-inch rims on the Dynamic and Premium while the Performance has 20-inch rims and red brake calipers. Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) is standard in the 2026 Sealion 7 along with nine airbags.
Inside, they all have the same black interior with a 15.6-inch infotainment screen and digital instrument panel. In the Premium and Performance, the driver gets eight-way power adjustable seats, with four-way lumbar adjustment and power adjustable leg rest. The Dynamic driver’s seat is eight-way power adjustable. The front passenger seats are six-way power adjustable. In addition, the front seats are ventilated across all three trim levels.
The 2026 BYD Sealion 7 is available in Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, Shark Grey and Cosmos Black. In addition, exclusive to the Premium is Ultraviolet.
BYD Sime Motors is offering exclusive value-added packages in conjunction with the launch. The first 300 customers who buy the Dynamic variant have the choice of either a complimentary wallbox or a special price of RM159,800, a saving of RM4,000 on the RM163,800 retail price.
For the Premium, the launch promo consists of a complimentary wallbox and RM3888 overtrade bonus. Meanwhile for the Performance, there is a complimentary wallbox and RM2888 overtrade bonus.
The 2026 BYD Sealion 7 comprehensive warranty package includes:
- six-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty
- eight-year or 160,000km high-voltage blade battery warranty
- eight-year or 160,000km drive unit warranty
