The Malaysia Car of the Year annual Car Buyers’ Guide has launched. The guide is available in two format, a limited edition coffee table book and a PDF download at www.malaysiacaroftheyear.com. There is no charge to download the PDF version.
Malaysia’s longest-running automotive awards, the Malaysia Car of the Year (MCOTY) award was founded in 2002 by motoring editor Yamin Vong. The judging panel comprise independent automotive journalists from various motoring publications and other professionals. The award has run annually, except for two years, beginning in 2020, during the Covid pandemic.
When MCOTY resumed in 2023, it was in partnership with the Malaysia Automotive Robotics and Internet
of Things Institute (MARii). MARii is an agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry.
The MCOTY winners are announced in national daily newspapers and other media. However, there has been a new tradition for the last two years: the buyers’ guide published as a premium, limited-edition coffee table book. In addition, the guide remains a free resource for all motorists. Following the launch, the complete Annual Car Buyers’ Guide will also be available as a free-to-access PDF download at www.malaysiacaroftheyear.com.
