Ford Ranger line-up updates include new Ranger XL and all-new Ranger Sport 3.0L and Ranger Platinum 3.0L variants
Auto Connexion-Ford has launched three new Ford Rangers. The Ranger XL has a new 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine and starts from RM127,888. The Ranger Sport is now available with a 3.0-litre engine starting from RM159,888. There is also a new Ranger Platinum 3.0L, replacing the Ranger Platinum 2.0L, which starts from RM205,888.
The Ford Ranger is available in many variants from the base XL to the high-performance Raptor. They share common features such as the 1000kg payload capacity, up to 3500kg towing capacity and up to 800mm water-wading depth.
Inside, there are two-tone seat interiors, 12-inch multi-touchscreen display head unit with wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity and Voice Recognition, electronic dual-zone climate control air conditioning and up to four USB charging ports. In addition, the Raptor, Platinum and Sport variants have Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technologies and selectable drive modes.
Ford Ranger Platinun
The all-new Ford Ranger Platinum now comes with a 3.0-litre engine replacing the previous Platinum with a 2.0-litre engine. The V6 turbodiesel produces 247hp/250PS and 600Nm of torque and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Distinctive exterior features include the exclusive Platinum grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, Flexible Rack System and exclusive Acacia Green exterior colour. Aside from the upgraded engine, the 3.0-litre Platinum has all the same features as the 2.0-litre except for the electric roller-shutter which has not been carried over to the 3.0-litre. It is now an optional extra.
Inside, the cabin has exclusive Platinum interior finishes, quilted leather-accented seats with heating and ventilation for both the driver and front passenger which have 10-way adjustable seats, signature Platinum embossing, and a Bang & Olufsen eight-speaker sound system.
Ford Ranger Sport
This is 3.0-litre Ranger Sport is an all-new variant. It has the same V6 turbodiesel engine as the Platinum.
Distinctive from the Platinum externally, the Sport has sporty black accents around the grille and 18-inch alloy wheels. It also has a full-time four-wheel drive system. Differences in features include LED Reflector headlights while the Platinum has LED Projectors. Inside there is a digital instrument cluster.
There is also a Ranger Sport 2.0-litre with the new single-turbo diesel engine from Ford that replaces the bi-turbo diesels. The engine produces 168hp/ 170PS/125kW and 405 Nm of torque. Paired with 10-speed automatic, the Ranger Sport 2.0-litre has part-time four-wheel drive, and starts from RM145,888.00.
Ford Ranger XL
The workhorse of the Ford Ranger line-up, the Ranger XL has a practical truck for recreational and commercial users. It has the same latest generation single turbo 2.0-litre diesel engine from Ford which produces 168hp/ 170PS/125kW and 405 Nm of torque. Also paired with a 10-speed automatic,
New Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu
At the launch, Auto Connexion-Ford announced the new Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu enabling faster access to genuine Ford parts and faster repairs for Ford owners in East Malaysia.
The facility will commence phased operations starting 27 July 2026. The initial inventory will consist of approximately 1,000 fast-moving genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts, including maintenance, wear-and-tear and accident repair components. Selected fast-moving parts available for same day delivery within the Kota Kinabalu area.
There are 33 authorised Ford dealer locations nationwide, including nine authorised Ford sales and service touchpoints across East Malaysia. These comprise seven dealerships and two dedicated service-only centres, with service support extended to communities in Kapit and Mukah, Sarawak.
The expanded Ford Ranger line-up is now available for booking at authorised Ford dealerships nationwide. Prices in Peninsular Malaysia (on-the-road, without insurance) start from RM205,888 for the Ranger Platinum, RM159,888 for the Ranger Sport 3.0L, RM145,888 for the Ranger Sport 2.0L and RM127,888 for the Ranger XL.
To celebrate the arrival of the newly launched models and as part of a limited launch promotion, customers who purchase the Ranger XL and Ranger Sport 2.0L by 31 August 2026 will receive a complimentary Ford Front HD1080p Dashcam while purchases of Ranger Sport 3.0L and Ranger Platinum 3.0L* come with a complimentary two-year Basic Extended Service Plan (ESP).
