Dongfeng Heavy Industries also launched a range of heavy-duty commercial vehicles
Dongfeng Heavy Industries Sdn Bhd has officially launched in Malaysia as the official dealer of Dongfeng heavy-duty commercial vehicles. At the launch event, Dongfeng Heavy Industries also introduced a range of heavy-duty trucks. These consisted of prime movers, tippers and cement mixers.
The Executive Director of Dongfeng Heavy Industries Sdn Bhd is Mr Quek Wang who is an commercial vehicles industry veteran. The company location is Jalan Meru, Klang
During the official launch, Quek Wang introduced his team, as well as the products in detail. “We understand the concerns of transport companies and thus, have decided to introduce this latest generation of Dongfeng heavy duty trucks. In particular, we would like to point out that these vehicles comply with EURO V emission standards, using tried and tested engine and drivetrain technology from leading manufacturers.”
At the launch were Dongfeng 4×2 and 6×4 prime movers, 6×4 and 8×4 tippers as well as 6×4 cement mixers. According to Quek, these vehicles compliment each other and customers are likely to order a combination of vehicles. Gemilang Coachwork will assemble the vehicles in Malaysia.
Quek added that Gemilang Coachwork’s suitability as a partner is their decades of precision manufacturing expertise. They also provided advanced production engineering capabilities, and quality control processes. Gemilang Coachwork also had experience integrating complex systems and managing stringent compliance requirements. They also had consistent build standards across diverse vehicle platforms. Pang Jun Jie, Director of Gemilang Coachwork was present for the signing of the assembly agreement during the event.
The Dongfeng vehicles brand is China’s second national automotive brand and supplies to the Chinese military. The trucks are designed and tested to extremely rugged conditions.
“We will not say that these trucks will never break down, however, considering the way they are constructed and built, we are confident that they can offer a high amount of uptime.” To supplement the sales, Dongfeng Heavy Industries will have workshops set up in strategic locations. These will have to comply with stringent checks. Ensuring that customers get the full service, Pang added “Every workshop that we sign on has to have mobile rescue service. We understand that getting any broken-down vehicle back on the road is a major concern and we want to ensure that we can offer this to our clients.”
