smart #5 available in RWD Premium and AWD Brabus variants
smart #5 launched in Malaysia in two variants, Premium and Brabus. The rear-wheel drive Premium is RM199,800 while the all-wheel drive Brabus is RM249,800. These are introductory prices for the first 300 units registered.
The SUV is the third and largest smart model to launch, joining the #1 and #3, both of which are also, albeit smaller, SUVs. With a 2900mm wheelbase, the #5 is a D-segment SUV.
The smart #5 has a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating. It has 85% high-strength cage structure and 42,000Nm torsional rigidity, seven airbags, smart Pilot Assist, Highway Pilot Assist (HWA) with Stop & Go, and a 360° camera system.
It has state-of-the-art 800V EV architecture, a 100kWh battery – the highest capacity ever fitted in a smart – and a 590km WLTP range.
There are nine drive modes of which five are off-road modes. The suspension system is double wishbone in front and at the rear five-link independent suspension system.
The interior is wrapped in soft-touch Nappa leather, oak wood trims and a tie-clip inspired dashboard design. A 1.7m² panoramic roof tops the cabin which has soundproof double-layered glass for a quieter drive. The cabin can be configured for three different bed modes – a super-large 2.7m x 1.4m bed, a 2.1m x 1.4m double bed or a 2.7m x 0.6m single bed. There are also 34 storage spaces, a 1530L rear trunk, and 72L frunk.
In addition, there are two 13-inch OLED infotainment screens, a 25.6” AR head-up display, AMD V2000 chipset, and LEO, a ChatGPT-powered smart avatar. There are 256 ambient light colours and the Sennheiser 20-speaker sound system has Dolby Atmos for an immersive audio environment.
The Premium is available in Meta Black, Cyber Silver, Pulsar Ruby and Saturn Beige Matte*, all with the Eclipse Black roof.
The Brabus comes in Atom Grey Matte*, Meta Black and Digital White together with Eclipse Black roof.

Dual-motor AWD, 0–100 km/h in 3.8s, Launch Mode, BRABUS sound experience, Dinamica seats, red brake calipers, and 21” BRABUS Monoblock Z wheels.
