
Leapmotor is the latest EV brand from China to enter the market
Leapmotor has debuted in the Malaysia market with the launch of the C10 all-electric SUV.
The D-segment C10’s market rivals are diverse and spans a price range that includes the Proton X90, Chery Tiggo 8 Pro and Honda CR-V for internal combustion engine (ICE) models and the Tesla Model Y for EVs.
The five-seater rear-wheel drive is built on the Leap 3.0 platform which was designed for electric vehicles. The dimensions of the D-segment SUV are 4739 millimetres long, 1900 millimetres wide, 1680 millimetres tall. The wheelbase is 2825 millimetres and ground clearance, 180millimetres. The C10 wheelbase is longer than that of the ICE SUVs and 66mm shorter than the Tesla Model Y.
The headlights are LED with sequencing daytime-running lights, flanking the front bumper which has a built-in active grille shutter function to improve cooling and aerodynamics. There are also horizontal side intake aprons. The LED tail lamps have an animated LED light bar. The alloy rims are 20-inch, in a Trident design.
The C10 has a 424km (WLTP) range. The electric motor delivers 214bhp (160kW) and 320Nm of torque. The 0-100km/h sprint takes 7.5 seconds. The Lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery is 69.9kWh. The AC charger is 6.6kW while the DC charger is 84kW. DC charging from 30% to 80% takes 30 minutes. There is also Vehicle-to-load (V2L) of 3.3kW.
There are four driving modes, ECO, Comfort, Sport, and Custom.
The C10’s has seven airbags and ADAS Level 2 Leap Pilot system with the following advanced functions:

The infotainment screen is 14.6-inch, with Leap OS 4.0 for over-the-air updates. The instrument cluster is displayed on a 10.2-inch screen. There is a 360ยบ camera and transparent chassis feature.
The upholstery is OEKO-Tex Standard 100, baby-friendly silicone textile. The air conditioning has built-in PM2.5 filtration system. The driver’s seat has six-way power adjustment while the front passengers gets four-way power adjustable. Both have cooling ventilation. There is a Driver Seat Departure reminder that alerts the driver when a mobile phone is left behind. The seats fold flat into a double bed with Camp Mode and Nap Mode.
The front centre console incorporates a 15-watt wireless charging pad, a storage compartment, a 12-volt socket, and 60-watt USB-C and 12-watt USB-A power outlets. Rear passengers can charge their smart devices using two USB-C or USB-A ports. The rear cabin offers 951 millimetres legroom and 1,050 millimetres headroom with:

The C10 has a 435-litre boot and 1,410-litre load capacity with the rear 60/40 split seats folded flat. For added convenience, the rear hatch features a power-operated tailgate with customisable opening height options.

There are two interior colours. Criollo Brown is only available with Glazed Green, and Midnight Aurora.
For the launch, there’s a limited time introductory price of RM149,000 on the road without insurance, valid for bookings until 30th November 2024. After this, the Leapmotor C10 will retail at RM159,000.
Maintenance, Battery & Vehicle Warranty
The all-new electric Leapmotor C10 comes with a six-year* or 150,000km warranty*, and an eight-year or 160,000km Battery warranty, whichever comes first. Service intervals are fixed at one-year or 20,000km, whichever comes first.
