MG HS SUV in two trim levels, Standard and Lux, with estimated price below RM150k
MG Malaysia is adding a new SUV to the line-up in Malaysia, the HS. At the preview, there were two trim levels, Standard, estimated to be below RM130,000 and the Lux, estimated to be below RM150,000. The HS SUV goes up against the Honda CR-V and the Proton X70 for size. Also on preview at the same event was the MG5 saloon and MG Cyberster roadster.
Both HS variants have a 1.5L Turbocharged petrol engine with seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers 160bhp and 250Nm of torque and designed with a lifespan of up to 320,000 kilometres.
At the front is a bold front grille and bumper, and new bi-functional LED headlights. At the rear, the taillights are LED and the bumper has dual exhaust outlets. There are 17-inch alloy wheels on the Standard and 18-inch alloy wheels on the Lux . The boot is 463-litre expandable to 1287-litres with the rear seats down. Additional features on the Lux is a power tailgate and panoramic sunroof. The Lux also gets ventilation disc brakes with red calipers at the front and disc brakes at the rear with red calipers.
Safety features in both variants are six SRS airbags along with the standard passive system:

In addition, the MG HS Lux is fitted with MG Pilot advanced driver assist safety features. This includes:

Inside there is black leather upholstery. The driver’s seat is six-way electrically adjustable with manual lumbar support. The front passenger seat is four-way electrically adjustable. The Lux driver and front passenger have sports seats.
The Standard has a seven-inch Multi Info Display and 10.1-inch infotainment with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. There is also a reverse camera, four speakers and four USB ports. The cabin has single zone climate control with PM 2.5 air filtration.
In the Lux, there is a 12.3-inch virtual cluster display with four display themes, along with a 10.1-inch high resolution infotainment display with 360˚ view camera, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. There is dual zone climate control, also with PM 2.5 air filtration
The Lux also has MG iSMART phone connectivity. MG iSMART allows control of various functions via the mobile phone. These include Bluetooth key function and air-conditioning. There are 64-theme ambient light settings. The Lux also has Super Sport Mode which alters driving performance with gear changes at higher RPM and stiffer steering.
MG HS SUV comes with a comprehensive warranty package, including five years with Unlimited Mileage Warranty (whichever comes first) on the vehicle, and seven years with Unlimited Mileage Warranty (whichever comes first) on the powertrain (engine and transmission).
