All-new Porsche 911 GT3 launched in Malaysia

New Porsche 911 GT3 debuts at Sepang during Porsche World Road Show 2021

The all-new Porsche 911 GT3 launched in Malaysia at the first day of Porsche World Road Show, a nine-day event held at Sepang International Circuit.

The track-oriented 911 variant has a naturally-aspirated 4.0-litre, six-cylinder engine that delivers 503bhp and 470Nm of torque. Paired with seven-speed PDK transmission, the 0-100km time is 3.4 seconds and the top speed is 318km/h. It is faster than its predecessor, achieving a Nurburgring Nordschleife lap time 17 seconds faster at 6:59:927 minutes.

New in the seventh generation GT3 are

  • double-wishbone front axle
  • swan neck fixed rear wing
  • racing diffuser
  • individual throttle bodied engine

Options at no additional cost are a six-speed manual GT sports gearbox or the GT Touring Packing.

The GT Touring Package transforms the GT3 into a more road-orientated grand tourer. Instead of the fixed rear wing, is an automatically extending rear spoiler. There are also high-gloss anodised aluminium on the side windows and body coloured front bumper, and a silver “GT3 Touring” logo on the rear grille lid.

The 911 GT3 front bonnet and rear wing are made from the carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP), the windows are made from lightweight glass, and the starter battery is a small LiFePO4 unit. In addition, forged lightweight wheels and a sports exhaust system have reduced the weight of the seven-generation car by more than ten kilograms, compared to its predecessor. This is despite a wider body, larger wheels and more technical and safety features. The 911 GT3 with six-speed manual gearbox is 1418kg while the seven-speed PDK version weighs 1435kg.

Optional equipment on the 911 GT3 is also available with the Touring Package: LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS), Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), lift system on the front axle, seat variations, assist systems, audio systems and Sports Chrono package.

The instrument cluster is GT3-specific. It includes a central rev counter which goes up to 10,000rpm and two high-resolution 7.0-inch displays featuring the new track screen.  At the touch of a button, the track screen simplifies the digital display to key information such as

  • tyre pressure
  • oil pressure
  • oil temperature
  • fuel tank level

The track screen also includes a visual shift assistant with coloured bars to the left and right of the rev counter and a shift light to facilitate more accurately-timed gear changes.

The infotainment is centred on a high-resolution 10.9-inch touchscreen display and comes with the latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with online navigation and Porsche Connect Plus. This system also supports the Porsche Track Precision App, which helps drivers maximise their track sessions and improve lap times by providing detailed driving data, including live displays and video analyses.

Customised equipment is available from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur including GT3-specific options.

The Porsche 911 GT3 and 911 GT3 with Touring Package is now open for pre-order in Malaysia. Prices start from RM1,766,244.00 with SST exemption.
