All-new BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence will be assembled in Kulim
A preview was held for the all-new BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence which will be launched later this year. The luxury SUV will be assembled in Kulim.
The CKD unit is largely unchanged from the imported X7 xDrive40i which launched in Malaysia in 2019. There are two new features: Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Integral Active Steering, also new livery combinations.
The engine and gearbox combination are the same, a six-cylinder petrol engine which produces 340bhp and 450Nm at peak torque. The 0-100km/h time is 6.1 seconds. It’s four-wheel drive with Dynamic Stability Control and two-axle air suspension with sensors that modulate braking harshness.
Also like the imported variant, X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence has Executive Drive Pro with active roll stabilisation. The ride comfort is enhanced by the Dynamic Damper Control system, which processes data from the navigation system and front camera.
The BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 7.0 combines a fully digital, user-configurable 12.3-inch instrument cluster with a large central Control Display with touchscreen functionality. In addition, there is BMW Head-Up Display, voice-controlled BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant and BMW Gesture Control.
Other highlights include the Welcome Light Carpet feature, five-zone air conditioning, a Harman Kardon Surround Sound System with 16 loudspeakers and electric roller blinds for side windows. The Rear Entertainment Professional system is also available.
The SUV has soft-closing doors and Panorama Roof Sky Lounge. The 325-litre luggage compartment expands to 2,120 litres with the backrests folded down.
There is BMW Personal CoPilot technology. This includes the Parking Assistant Plus with automatic manoeuvring in and out of parallel parking spaces, along with the Reversing Assistant to assist in safely manoeuvring out of a tight parking space.
The Driving Assistant includes Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Warning and front collision warning with brake intervention. There are also the previously mentioned new features, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function and Integral Active Steering. BMW Digital Key, wireless charging for mobile phones, as well as smartphone integration are available as standard.
The all-new BMW X7 xDrive40i Pure Excellence has five new exterior finishes with selected interior colour combinations. The exterior colours of Black Sapphire and Sophisto Grey come in Cognac Leather Vernasca upholstery with Black design perforations, while Phytonic Blue and Manhattan Metallic exteriors come complete with an all-Black design-perforated Leather Vernasca interior. Lastly, Leather Vernasca in Coffee with Black design perforations comes exclusively with the Mineral White model.
