Three variants available of all-electric Porsche Taycan starts from RM725,000
The electric Porsche Taycan is now available in Malaysia. The four-door sports saloon is offered in three variants, the Taycan 4S, the Taycan Turbo and the Taycan Turbo S. Porsche has retained their traditional variant designations in keeping with their other models.
The all-electric Taycan is the first production vehicle to have a system voltage of 800 volts instead of the usual 400 volts in electric cars. This makes it faster for the battery to recharge to its full range of 400 km in around 40 minutes, using 175 kW DC chargers which are available at selected locations.
The Taycan has all-wheel drive from the two AC motors, one at the front axle and one at the rear. The motor at the front has single speed transmission while the rear motor has two speed transmission. The driving modes are the usual Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual found in combustion engined Porsche models, with the addition of Range which optimises electric usage. Sport Plus and Individual are part of the Sport Chrono Package which is standard on the Taycan Turbo S.
Standard in the Taycan are Porsche Traction Management, adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management and Porsche Stability Management with ABS.
Inside, the dashboard is an integrated glass band consisting of a freestanding 16.9-inch curved instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch instrument display and a display for the passenger. The Taycan Turbo S and Turbo have a leather-free interior which is an option for the Taycan 4S.
The base model, Taycan 4S is available with a 79.2 kWh Performance battery or a higher output the 93.4 kWh Performance battery Plus. Standard features in the 4S are 19-inch wheels, LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus.
In the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S, the standard battery is 93.4 kWh. The wheels on the Turbo are 20-inch while the Turbo has 21-inch wheels. For both variants, LED Matrix Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) are standard.
The flagship Turbo S is fitted with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), and carbon door sill guards, sport design sideskirts and rear diffuser in louvered design. These are available options for the Taycan Turbo and Taycan 4S.
The Porsche Taycan is covered by a complimentary and comprehensive four-year maintenance and warranty package, with an eight-year warranty for the battery.
Direct Current high performance chargers have been installed at all Porsche Centres, with shorter charging times of only 36 minutes for a full charge.
Retail prices for the Taycan variants in Malaysia start from RM 1,195,000.00 for the Taycan Turbo S, RM 999,000.00 for the Taycan Turbo and RM 725,000.00 for the Taycan 4S.
Following a home check to determine if the location is suitable, a 22 kW Porsche Mobile Charger Plus and the Porsche Home Energy Manager will be installed
