The Hyundai i30N Performance has been launched in Malaysia and will be offered exclusively through Lazada Malaysia during its 12.12 Grand Year End Sale.  There are only 20 units available and pre-order will open from 2 to 11 December through Lazada’s Chup Dulu feature.

Buyers can secure one of the 20 high-performance hatchbacks by paying a 50% deposit (RM1000) on the RM2000 booking fee via the Lazada app. To complete the booking, pay the remaining RM1000 between 12 and 14 December. The deposit is non-refundable if the full booking fee payment is not completed.

A Hyundai representation will then contact the prospective buyer with details of how to follow through with the purchase at their preferred Hyundai showroom. The 20 successful purchasers will be treated to a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Korea for an exclusive track day experience.

The i30N is Hyundai’s first high-performance car, and the first product from Hyundai’s new N division. One variant of the i30N will be offered in Malaysia, the higher output N Performance powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre, 271bhp, 353Nm engine with 18 seconds of overboost and six-speed manual transmission.  The 0-100km/h time is 5.9 seconds.  There is also the lower powered i30N with 246bhp and 353Nm of torque.

Features in the i30N Performance include LED daytime running lights and LED headlights with high beam assist. Compared to the standard i30, the i30N Performance is 8mm lower and comes with 19-inch wheels with signature red N brake callipers. Active safety features include Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Attention Alert, Lane Keeping Assist with corrective steering.

The hot hatch has five drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, N and N Custom settings, which drivers can select with just a push of a button. The N Grin control system changes the drive mode, adjusting the parameters of the engine, followed by the dampers; while activating the Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic Limited Slip Differential (E-LSD), sound, steering and rev-matching. Additionally, the driver can select the rev-matching button on the steering wheel to increase the revs on the engine when shifting from a higher to a lower gear, while the car’s Launch Control helps to launch the car as quickly as possible by controlling engine torque.

There’s a new instrument cluster and a 8-inch free-floating screen with a G-Force meter for live tracking of performance. Information on the instrument cluster include a shift timing indicator to indicate when to change gears, rev counter and speedometer.

The sports seats are upholstered in a combination of faux suede and leather with the N logo stamped on the back rest. There’s an N-exclusive multi-function steering wheel.

Only one colour is available, Performance Blue. The i30N Performance is priced at RM298,888 on-the-road without insurance and comes with a five-year or 300,000km (whichever comes first) warranty. It is available for viewing at Sime Darby Auto Hyundai Old Klang Road, Kuala Lumpur. For more information call  Hyundai’s Customer Careline at 1-300-13-2000.
