Spectacular international and local entertainment line-up over the Singapore Formula 1 weekend from 20 to 22 September
The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2019 on the 20 to 22 September weekend is going to be a non-stop activity on and off the track. Race promoter Singapore GP has unveiled their list of artistes performing which include Fatboy Slim, Gwen Stefani, Hans Zimmer, Larkin Poe, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Swedish House Mafia, as well as Toots and the Maytals.
The two most recently announced additions are Lighthouse Family and The Ramona Flowers. The musical duo Lighthouse Family – made up of vocalist Tunde Baiyewu and producer/keyboardist Paul Tucker – are making their return in 2019 after nearly two decades with their fourth album ‘Blue Sky In Your Head’. One of the biggest British bands of the 1990s, the easy listening pop and soul group rose to fame with hit singles Lifted, Ocean Drive and High.
Prior to their sold-out 2019 United Kingdom tour, the duo will be performing in select Asian cities, including Singapore at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. Fans can look forward to enjoying their classic hits at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre (Zone 4) on 21 September.
The Ramona Flowers has been compared to the likes of their music influences, Phoenix and M83. Consisting of guitarist Sam James, bassist Wayne Jones, keyboardist/guitarist Dave Betts, drummer Ed Gallimore and vocalist Steve Bird, the indie-synth quintet have three albums, ‘Dismantle’ (2012), ‘Lust and Lies’ (2013) as well as ‘Dismantle and Rebuild’ (2014) to their credit.
Fans can look forward to grooving to dreamy euphoric sound tracks like Strangers, Ghost and Out of Focus at the Sunset Stage (Zone 1) on 21 September and the Downtown Stage (Zone 4) on 22 September.
Other local and international acts also adding to the riveting atmosphere at the Marina Bay Street Circuit include UK-based quintet Holy Roller and The Smoking Guns, Singapore’s only fully independent professional symphony orchestra Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, DJs and party-starters Darker Than Wax, EMONIGHTSG, DJ Honey and Ulysses, Singapore’s percussion ensemble Bloco Singapura as well as Taiwan’s fire dance troupe Coming True Fire Group.

Even before the fastest Formula 1 cars take to the track, race fans can look forward to the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific and Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, both returning as official support races this year.
