Mega evening saw three SUVs launched: the BMW X4 xDrive30i M Sport, the BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport and the BMW X2 M35i
BMW Malaysia has launched three new four-wheel drives: the BMW X4, the BMW X5, and the BMW X2.
First up is the locally-assembled, second generation BMW X4 which will initially be offered in one variant, the petrol driven xDrive30i M Sport. The Sports Activity Coupé has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder and output of 252bhp and peak torque of 350Nm. Top speed, is 240km/h while the 0-100km time takes 6.3 seconds. The gearbox is eight-speed Sport transmission with shift paddles and Launch Control.
The weight of the all-new X4 has been reduced by 50 kilogrammes from a higher percentage of light-weight aluminium and high-strength steel in the chassis. The centre of gravity has been lowered further. Leg and knee room has been increased by 27mm. Also increased is luggage capacity: by 25 litres to 525 litres and up to 1,430 litres by folding down the 40/20/40-split rear seat backrests completely.
Standard equipment for the vehicle includes xDrive all-wheel drive, Adaptive Suspension, Variable Sport Steering, electronic differential lock, Hill-Start Assistant, Hill Descent Control along with Performance Control that distributes engine and braking control to the individual wheels when turning.
Inside, the trim for controls are electroplated for a more deluxe air. There’s a new, larger, 10.25-inch Navigation System Professional with Touch Sensitive Control Display, complete with BMW ConnectedDrive, full-colour Head-Up Display, a high-resolution 12.3-inch Multifunctional Instrument Display with Black-Panel Technology. The advanced Voice Control system has been improved to follow instructions phrased in natural language.
The interior features newly designed sports seats for the driver and front passenger, furnished in Vernasca Leather upholstery in Tacora Red. There is a three-zone air conditioning system with separate controls for the rear seats, Harman Kardon 16-Speaker Surround Sound System and a large Panorama Glass Roof.
The all-new BMW X4 is offered in Alpine White, Carbon Black, Flamenco Red and Phytonic Blue. Black Vernasca leather upholstery is available for all exteriors colours while the new Tacora Red Vernasca leather upholstery is exclusive to Alpine White and Carbon Black.
The estimated retail price for the all-new BMW X4 xDrive30i M Sport is RM380, 000.00. Price is on-the-road, without insurance, and with BMW Group Malaysia’s latest 5 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty, Free Scheduled Service Programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme.
