Popular SUV now available in Malaysia with dual fuel option and dual-clutch gearbox.
The Honda HR-V has been the number one compact SUV in Malaysia since it began sales in 2015. Honda Malaysia recently launched the HR-V Hybrid, the first country outside Japan to offer the hybrid variant, which is powered by a four-cylinder 1.5-litre engine paired with an electric motor to produce a combined output of 152bhp and 190Nm of torque, equivalent to that from a 2.0-litre engine. The gearbox is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission for sportier responses to foot input although Honda does not share performance figures.
The Hybrid has the same equipment levels as the E-spec HR-V. Key feature highlights are keyless entry and push button start, automatic air-conditioning, cruise control, paddle shifts and half leather upholstery. There’s a 6.8-inch monitor for the infotainment system which has an HDMI port.
Safety features include six airbags, ABS, electronic brake distribution, hill-start assist, stability control, emergency stop signal, multi-angle rearview camera and ISOfix anchors in the rear seats.
The energy efficient, five-star ASEAN NCAP safety-rated HR-V Sport Hybrid i-DCD is priced at RM120,800 on-the-road without insurance. Colours available are White Orchid Pearl (with a RM300 surcharge for the special colour), Lunar Silver Metallic and Modern Steel Metallic. All Hondas come with five-year unlimited mileage warranty. In addition, there is an eight-year unlimited mileage warranty on the lithium-ion hybrid battery.
