Mercedes-Benz Malaysia: new HQ and regional training centre

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has moved into its new Headquarters in Bandar Kinrara. Wisma Mercedes-Benz will house its corporate offices: Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Mercedes-Benz Services Malaysia, Daimler TSS GmbH, and the Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Training Academy under one roof.

The purpose-built six-storey, 118,000 square foot facility is accredited as the first green industrial building in Subang Jaya and was awarded the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification. Operations offices utilise 53,000 square feet, while the Training Academy occupies 65,000 square feet.

The Training Academy has training rooms as well as a fully-operational workshop, built and equipped with the latest tools and diagnostic tools according to the latest Daimler AG Global Training standards with Daimler Certified trainers. As a regional training centre, the Academy will also hold regular Train the Trainer events conducted by Global Training, Stuttgart tropic expert trainers.

The technicians are trained not only to maintain and repair Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles but also the commercial vehicles, Actros and Fuso trucks. The training covers all fuel-type vehicles including hybrids with High Voltage & Hybrid qualification training with the latest HV tools and equipment.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia’s vocational training programme (Advance Modern Apprenticeship) leads to an international standard qualification. Apprentices are given full scholarships as well as allowances for the duration of their training before going on to work  at any of the authorised dealerships throughout the country. The new, larger and improved training facilities will enable MBM to increase the number of recruits and intakes a year to ensure a constant supply of well-trained, skilled technicians, sales staff as well as service advisors into the automotive industry.
