Volvo Car Malaysia has launched the Volvo V40 small family estate with minor updates to its looks. One trim level is available, the V40 T5 Inscription, which is the highest specification of the three in the Volvo product range. The other two trim options are Kinetic and Momentum.
In this mid-season refresh, changes made include a new Inscription front grille and new headlights featuring the signature Thor’s hammer light design, 17″ rims and a new milled aluminium inlay for the centre console. There is also now a new colour offered, Luminous Sand.
The engine and gearbox combination remain unchanged: an inline four cylinder that produces 245bhp and 350Nm of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The 0-100km/h time is 6.3 seconds.
The Volvo V40 was awarded a Euro NCAP five star rating when it was first launched achieving the highest ever score for a five star-rated car. The V40 T5 retains its segment-leading active safety system, City Safety, Volvo’s occupant safety system which includes Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB).
The V40 T5 Inscription is priced at RM180,888, on-the-road, without insurance. Other colours besides the new Luminous Sand are Ice White, Onyx Black and Osmium Grey.
