U Mobile, Waze and Smart Tunnel have partnered together to provide uninterrupted GPS coverage for U Mobile users while travelling in the 5.2kilometre tunnel. Now drivers no longer have to worry about getting lost or taking the wrong exit.
Bluetooth-enabled Waze Beacons have been installed in the Smart Tunnel to maintain seamless connectivity and undisrupted navigation. Drivers must have Bluetooth enabled on their phones to continue to receive the Waze signal. To date, over 240 Waze Beacons have been installed. U Mobile is the first telco in the world to provide uninterrupted GPS navigation in a tunnel.
Smart is the world’s longest dual purpose tunnel with over 30,000 users a day.
