Three Mercedes-AMG 63 S models launched

Top of the Mercedes-AMG range, C 63 S saloon, C 63 S Coupé and GT 63 S four-door Coupé made their Malaysian debut at Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience at Sepang

Three Mercedes-AMG 63 S variants have arrived in the form of the C 63 S saloon, C 63 S Coupé and GT 63 S four-door Coupé. Details of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S four-door Coupé can be found here.

Both the C63S saloon and Coupé are powered by AMG’s 4.0-litre bi-turbo engine paired with AMG Speedshift MCT nine-speed automatic transmission with six drive modes: “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “Slippery”, “Individual” as well as “Race” mode. In the AMG Speedshift MCT gearbox, the torque converter has been replaced with a multi-clutch system which is more compact, saves weight and gives faster gear changes.

Output from the V8 twin-turbo is 510bhp and 700Nm of torque with 0-100 in 3.9 seconds for the saloon and 4.0 seconds for the Coupé. Both have the AMG Performance exhaust system: the engine sound track is selected by push of a button. Three variable adjustable exhaust flaps are the source of the sound characteristics which change depending on the drive programme.

Both sport distinctive AMG bodystyling with carbon fibre detailing, two high-gloss chrome twin tailpipes, a new diffuser, a lateral air curtain at the rear apron and a body-coloured spoiler lip on the boot lid.

As standard are AMG Performance sports seats. The saloon has two-tone platinum white pearl and black upholstery while the Coupé has two-tone red pepper and black upholstery in AMG nappa leather. Both come with AMG carbon-fibre with longitudinal-brushed aluminium trim.

To make long journeys more comfortable, the C63 S saloon and coupé have Energizing comfort control which has various customised setting combinations for heating, ventilation, lighting and music according to the driver’s mood and needs.
