The all-new Kia Optima GT makes its Malaysia debut

The third generation of the all-new Kia Optima has been launched by Naza Kia Malaysia. Powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, the GT has a six-speed automatic gearbox and is the sole trim level offered. With its output of 242bhp and maximum torque of 350Nm, the D-segment, large family saloon is capable of sprinting to a hundred kilometres an hour  in 7.4 seconds.

The Kia Optima is larger than its predecessor all-round with 25mm more legroom and 10mm more headroom, and improved shoulder room for all passengers.

New features in the Optima GT include automatic LED directional headlights with LED day time running lights, LED combination rear lamps, smart trunk, wireless smartphone charger, automatic wipers,and three drive modes: normal, eco and sport with paddle shifts for easier gear changes.  The leather electric front seats are ventilated and come with memory function – 12 way adjustable for the driver, 10 for the passenger.

Driver conveniences offered in the GT include Tyre Pressure Monitoring, a long list of safety features like six airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, traction control, emergency stop signal, Hill-start Assist, Parking Assist with front and rear sensors and rear view camera.

Infotainment is provided via a seven-inch TFT LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity and MirrorLink to mirror the smartphone’s contents.

Three colours are offered, Gravity Blue, Aurora Black and Snow White Pearl. The Kia Optima GT is RM179,888 on-the-road, with insurance and comes with a five year unlimited mileage warranty.
