Suzuki launches new Jimny and Fronx variants in Malaysia

Suzuki Jimny AllGrip upgraded, now AllGrip Plus, and Jimny Rhino Plus and Fronx Sport added to line-up

The Suzuki line-up in Malaysia has been augmented with the launch of the new Suzuki Jimny AllGrip Plus, the Jimny Rhino Plus and Fronx Sport.

The Jimny AllGrip Plus is the updated Jimny AllGrip with significant equipment upgrades in active safety and driver assistance features while the price is still the same, RM158,900 on-the-road, without insurance. Key enhancements are as follows:

Convenience and comfort features

• Front and rear parking sensors with clearance sonar
• Electrically foldable and heated side mirros
• Adaptive Cruise Control
• nine-inch display audio system

Safety and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)

• Reverse camera with millimeter wave radar
• Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II)
• Lane Departure Warning/Prevention and Weaving Alert
• Automatic High Beam
• Emergency Stop Signal
• Side and curtain airbags

The engine and transmission combination remain the same, 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder engine paired with a four speed automatic with part-time four-wheel drive with a low-range transfer case (2H, 4H and 4L). The maximum power is 100hp and 130Nm of torque.

The Jimny AllGrip Plus comes in six body colour options:

• Kinetic Yellow + Bluish Black Pearl
• Chiffon Ivory + Bluish Black Pearl,
• Jungle Green
• Medium Grey
• Bluish Black Pearl
• Pure White Pearl.

There is also the Suzuki Jimny Rhino Plus which is the Jimny AllGrip Plus with exterior styling upgrades including features exclusive to the Rhino Plus. These are

• Exclusive front grille
• front bumper under garnish
• side under garnish
• Door visors
• Red front and rear mud flaps

The Jimny Rhino Plus comes in Pure White Pearl, Kinetic Yellow, and Chiffon Ivory and is RM173,900 on-the-road without insurance.

Finally, there is the Fronx Sport which is the recently launched Fronx, now with a sporty body kit. The body kit consists of

• 17-inch alloy wheels
• Continental UltraContact UC7 tyres

The Suzuki Fronx Sport is a mild hybrid. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine with a 48V integrated battery starter-generator produces 102hp and 138Nm of torque. The transmission is a six-speed automatic. There are also paddle-shifters.The WLTP range is over 700km.

The Fronx Sport has MacPherson struts in front and torsion beam suspension at the rear. Ground clearance is 170mm.

Exterior equipment includes LED headlamps with LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, with front, side and rear skid plate trim. 

Inside, there is two-tone fabric and synthetic leather upholstery. The steering column has tilt and reach adjustments, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and wireless charging. 

Safety wise, the Suzuki Fronx Sport has High Beam Assist, Hill Hold Control, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and six airbags as well as ADAS features as standard. The ADAS consists of

• adaptive cruise control
• lane change assist
• lane departure warning
• lane departure prevention
• lane keep assist
• blind spot monitor
• rear cross traffic alert
• vehicle sway warning

There are seven colours for the Fronx:

• Rising Orange + Cool Black
• Ice Grayish Blue + Cool Black
• Savanna Ivory + Cool Black
• Pearl Mellow Deep Red
• Cool Black
• Pearl Snow White
• Magma Gray

Meanwhile, the Fronx Sport is available in Pearl Snow White and Cool Black.

The Suzuki Fronx is now RM118,888 while the Fronx Sport is RM130,888. Both prices are on-the-road without insurance. The Fronx and Fronx Sport are fully-imported from Indonesia.

The Suzuki Jimny AllGrip Plus, Jimny Rhino Plus and Fronx Sport come with a three-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty (whichever comes first). In addition, specifically for the Fronx Sport, there is also a five-year or 100,000km battery warranty (whichever comes first).
