Suzuki Fronx now in Malaysia, from RM148k

Suzuki Fronx is an all-new model in the market

The Suzuki Fronx is now in Malaysia. The compact crossover is an all-new model to the Malaysia market. It is imported from Indonesia.

The Fronx is available as a hybrid with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid petrol engine that produces 103PS at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,400 rpm. The gearbox is a six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The 12V-10Ah Lithium Ion battery and a 37-litre fuel tank gives a WLTP driving range over 700 kilometres.

The B-segment crossover is 3995 mm in length, 1765 mm in width, 1550 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2520mm. The front suspension is MacPherson struts while the rear has torsion beam. There are 16-inch alloy wheels.

The Fronx has a coupe-style silhouette. At the front, there is a chrome-accented front grille, LED multi-reflector headlamps with DRLs and integrated signals. While at the rear, horizontal LED rear lamps. At the sides, wheel arch extensions. There are also roof rails, and bold skid plates along the front, rear, and side.

The Suzuki Fronx comes with five-star ASEAN NCAP certification for safety. The Advanced Driver Assistance System features are called Suzuki Safety Suite and comprise:

• Six airbags
• ABS with EBD and Brake Assist
• Hill Hold Control (HHC) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP®)
• Dual Sensor Brake Support II (DSBS II)
• Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
• Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
• Lane Change Assist (LCA)
• Lane Departure Warning (LDW)
• Lane Departure Prevention (LDP)
• Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Vehicle Sway Warning
• High Beam Assist (HBA)

Inside there is two-tone upholstery, nine-inch HD touchscreen infotainment monitor, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a Head-Up Display (HUD) and a 360-degree camera system, three-spoke leather steering wheel, cruise control and wireless charging.

For storage, there are seven multiple compartments, 308 litres of bootl space and 60:40 split-folding rear seats.

The Suzuki Fronx is available in the following two-tone combinations:

• Rising Orange + Cool Black
• Savanna Ivory + Cool Black
• Ice Grayish Blue + Cool Black

Single tone paintwork is also availble:

• Pearl Mellow Deep Red
• Cool Black
• Pearl Snow White
• Magma Gray

The vehicle warranty is three years or 100,000 km while the battery warranty is five years or 100,000km, whichever comes first.

The Suzuki Fronx is RM147,888 on-the-road price excluding insurance.
