Rolls-Royce Cullinan makes SEA Debut in Singapore

Cullinan, Rolls-Royce’s first SUV, retains signature Rolls-Royce characteristics including coach doors. 

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan, has made its regional debut in Singapore. The all-new SUV is named after the world’s largest diamond ever discovered and is only the second Rolls-Royce built on the marque’s new aluminium proprietary Architecture of Luxury platform after the 2018 Phantom limousine.

The four-wheel drive capabilities are powered by a 6.74-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine with an eight-speed gearbox to eke out every cubic millimetre of torque up to the peak of 850Nm from just 1600rpm. The Cullinan also has four-wheel steer.

There are multiple off-road settings to handle differing terrains, from rough track, gravel, wet grass, mud, snow or sand or to get through deep snow, sand or streams. Four-corner air suspension system enables the Cullinan to be raised or lowered by 40mm to maximise passenger comfort over all terrains. The Cullinan has a wading depth of 540mm, one of the deepest in the superluxury SUV sector.

Cullinan has some of the best technology in its segment, including Laser Headlights (600m range); Night Vision (300m), Vision Assist (1000m – oncoming vehicles), daytime and night-time Pedestrian warning; Alertness Assistant; a 4-Camera system with Panoramic View, all-round visibility and helicopter view; Active Cruise Control; Collision Warning; Cross-Traffic Warning, Lane Departure and Lane Change Warning; an industry leading 7×3 High-Resolution Head-Up Display, Wi-Fi hotspot, and the latest Navigation and Entertainment Systems. There are at least five USB-C ports fitted as standard.

The interior is leather with specially designed seats in “Box Grain” black leather. The rear seats are sited higher than the front seats so that rear passengers enjoy a grandstand view out of the car.

There are two configurations available for the rear seats, the four passenger “Individual” seats or the more family-friendly “Lounge” seats which can be folded down to increase the boot area. The 560-litre cargo area grows to 600-litres with the removal of the rear parcel shelf. Folding the Lounge seats down increases the capacity to 1930-litres with a flat floor length of 2245mm, one of the most generous in the segment. Built into the boot floor is the much vaunted Pavilion Seating.

The Cullinan is designed to be a mountaineering drawing room on wheels in Individual Seat format. There’s a drinks cabinet with whisky glasses and a decanter in the fix rear centre console and a glass partition that separates the cabin from the cargo area. In the tropical heat, air-conditioning is retained when the tailgate is opened.
