Renault Captur now assembled in Malaysia

Over 760,000 units of the Renault Captur have been produced globally since its launch in 2013, making it Europe’s best-selling small crossover. Now it’s assembled in Malaysia by TC Euro Cars, the only other production line besides Renault’s facility in Spain.

The specs – features and engine and gearbox combination – remain unchanged, a four-cylinder 1.2-litre, turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox that produce 118bhp of power at 4900rpm and 190Nm of torque at 2000rpm.

Also, included are the signature removable, washable upholstery covers, although leather seats are available as an option. Other features are cruise control and speed limiter, seven-inch touchscreen monitor with navigation, reverse camera, automatic wipers and headlights and automatic climate control. Safety features offered are four airbags, ABS, stability control, traction control electronic brake-force distribution, emergency brake assist, hill-start assist and ISOFIX child seats for both front passenger and rear seats.

Four colours are available: Arizona Orange, Ivory and Pacific Blue and an all-new colour, Flame Red, all topped with a Diamond Black roof. The Renault Captur has Energy Efficient Vehicle certification and is priced at RM109,000 on-the-road without insurance and comes with five years unlimited mileage warranty. The first 100 buyers of the locally-assembled Captur will get a rebate of RM11,000.
