Proton Holdings Berhad re-entered Chilean market with Proton Prevé almost a decade’s absence from Latin America. Two engine variants will be offered. Standard and Executive trim models will have a 1.6-litre, 107bhp, 150Nm naturally-aspirated engine paired with a five-speed manual gearbox while the Premium is offered with a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that produces 138bhp and 205Nm with seven-speed CVT transmission. The claimed 0-100km/h time for the Premium is under 10 seconds.
The Prevé has been awarded with a 5-star rating in the Australasia New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP), as well as the 5-star rating in the Asean New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) for Adult Occupant Protection. Safety features include active head restraints, ESC, airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist and traction control.
Standard features in cars include paddle shift controls, 6.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Bluetooth, cruise control and GPS navigation.

The Prevé is just the first of three models that will be sold in Latin America. The Proton Exora MPV and Proton Saga supermini saloon will be launched in Chile later this year.
