Third generation Mini has been facelifted with styling, safety and efficiency enhancements<\/em><\/p>\n

Mini Malaysia has launched three updated variants from the Mini range: the 3-door Mini Cooper S hatchback, the Mini Cooper S 5-door and the performance-oriented Mini John Cooper Works.<\/p>\n

Mini 3- and 5-Door<\/strong>
\nBoth the 3- and 5-door Minis are powered by a new 2.0-litre twin-scroll turbocharged engine. The output -192bhp and 280Nm of torque – is still the same but the engine cover is now made of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) which is 13% lighter and the engine innards have been updated, reducing the overall weight by eight kilogrammes.<\/p>\n

The new-design gear lever shifts the new seven-speed dual, wet clutch gearbox that replaces the six-speed auto. The 3-door scoots from 0-100km\/h in 6.7 seconds, the 5-door does it in 6.8 seconds. Top speed for both models is 235km\/h. Coasting,\u00a0previously only available in Green mode, is now available in both Green and Mid mode, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and providing a claimed 8% improvement on fuel efficiency.<\/p>\n

There are new brighter Bi-LED headlights with daytime running lights, LED indicator lamps, new Union Jack-patterned taillamps and body trimmings on the exterior. Inside, the ambient lighting forms a display in the pattern of a stylised Union Jack on the dashboard, set or running through a choice of 12 colours. A rear view camera has also been added.<\/p>\n
