Daimler and Uber have announced an agreement on the supply and operation of self-driving vehicles on Uber\u2019s global ridesharing network. Theirs is the first agreement as Uber opens up its platform to autonomous cars.<\/p>\n
Daimler is a pioneer in self-driving vehicle technologies. The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the world\u2019s first series-production vehicle to be awarded a test licence for autonomous driving in the US state of Nevada. With its Highway Pilot system, Daimler Trucks is now the world\u2019s first truck manufacturer with plans to develop an autonomous driving system for use in commercial vehicles.<\/p>\n
Uber is working with its Advanced Technology Group to test the cars while there is also an Otto division working on self-driving trucks.<\/p>\n
