Perodua Ativa with ASA 3.0 launched, from RM61,500

New Perodua Ativa has autonomous safety suite, Advanced Safety Assist 3.0,  as standard across the range

Perodua has launched the Ativa SUV. The Ativa is Perodua’s first turbocharged model, the first with CVT transmission and the first to provide Advanced Safety Assist 3.0 as standard across the range. There are three trim levels, X, H and AV, in the range.

The engine is a three-cylinder, 1.0-litre turbocharged unit paired with seven-speed Continuously Variable Transmission. The output is 97bhp at 6000rpm and 140Nm of torque at 2400 – 4000rpm.

The ASA 3.0 satisfies Autonomous Driving Level 2 standards. ASA 3.0 works at higher speeds of up to 120km/h for vehicles and 60km/h for pedestrian versus the current ASA 2.0. ASA 3.0 can also detect two-wheeled vehicles as well as function at night.

Also on all variants are six airbags, automatic LED headlamps with Auto High Beam, plus Lane Departure Warning and Prevention. H and AV variants get Adaptive Driving Beam, a seven-inch TFT multi-info display and a nine-inch touch-screen infotainment system with voice recognition, while exclusively on the top-of-the-range AV, there’s Lane Keep Control, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control.

The Ativa is Perodua’s second SUV model. It is the first model under the Perodua Smart Build blueprint, built on a global platform in partnership with Daihatsu. The partnership enables Perodua and its suppliers to share components and processes for maximum cost efficiency. 54 Perodua designers and engineers have worked with Daihatsu on this model since 2018.
