New Mazda CX-3 and Mazda6 in Malaysia

Both 2018 facelift models for the Malaysian market get cosmetic and equipment upgrades

Bermaz Motors has launched the CX-3 SUV and the Mazda6 in Malaysia. Both models have won numerous design awards since their respective launches.

Cosmetically, on the exterior the CX-3 has a new front grille design with double chrome slats, rear tail lights with sharper styling, and a new rim design although the size remains the same at 18-inches. The rear tail lamps are now LED.

Inside, there is now an electronic handbrake and more storage around the centre console, a new updated dashboard, red accents on the air-conditioning louvres, new front seats with more support and a new rear seat centre armrest with built-in cup holders.

The SUV is better buffered against NVH with improvements for sound insulation made by introducing thicker door panels, outer glass and headliner door seals; resulting in a more refined and quieter cabin. In terms of vehicle dynamics enhancements, the suspension has been retuned for a smoother ride, and the power steering and chassis recalibrated for a swifter and a more enjoyable Jinba-Ittai driving experience.

The CX-3 now comes equipped with Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

The 2.0-litre, six speed auto transmission combination remain unchanged along with the provision of G-Vectoring Control which was introduced mid-lifecycle in 2017.

The 2018 Mazda CX-3 CBU is available in 6 colour choices: Soul Red Crystal, Ceramic Metallic, Machine Grey, Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black Mica and Snowflake White Pearl.

Mazda’s flagship saloon/stationwagon, the Mazda6 sees several updates. At the front, there’s a new grille, new LED headlights, new bumper with improved aerodynamics and a new rims. At the rear, there’s a new chrome finish, new rear lamp design and new tailpipe design.

In the cabin, the dashboard has been redesigned to include a larger, eight-inch display monitor for the infotainment system while the driver information from the Active Driving Display is projected in colour on to the windscreen. The ergonomics of the new front seats have been improved to reduce driver fatigue. A USB charging point has also been added to the rear centre armrest.

The Mazda6 also benefits from improved noise and vibration dampening with a redesigned suspension, reinforced chassis, and thicker door panels, outer glass, headliner and door seals.

Equipment improvements include the last 360º View Monitor, Driving Attention Alert and, in the 2.2-litre and 2.5-litre variants, Smart City Brake Support Rear.

The new 2018 Mazda6 is imported from Japan and available in two petrol engine variants, 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre, and a 2.2-litre diesel variant, all paired with six-speed automatic gearboxes and equipped with G-Vectoring Control. The 2.0-litre and 2.2-litre are only available in saloon form. The 2.5-litre is offered in both saloon and stationwagon form. There are seven colour choices: Snowflake White Pearl, Sonic Silver, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray and Titanium Flash.

Selling prices for the Mazda6 variants will be released soon.

The 2018 Mazda CX-3 CBU is RM121,134.00 on-the-road without insurance. Bermaz is assuring customers that they will absorb SST on all cars ordered before 31 August even though delivered after 1 September.

Both the CX-3 and the Mazda6 come with five-year/100,000 km warranty as well as a three-year/60,000 km free maintenance package
