Mini Cooper S Countryman Sports launched in Malaysia

Mini Malaysia has launched a third variant of the Countryman SUV, the Cooper S Countryman Sport. The front-wheel drive is assembled in Malaysia.

The Mini Cooper S Countryman Sport comes with the Mini John Cooper Works Aerodynamic Kit: cooling ducts built into the front apron, a rear bumper with a diffuser design and Mini JCW door sill finishers. Also fitted are sports suspension with tougher suspension spring and stiffer pneumatic shocks for optimum road holding and 19-inch Mini John Cooper Works Course Spoke rims with Run Flat tyres.

New features include a slew of parking aids: Park Distance Control, Park Assist with Control Display and Park Assistant, to make manoeuvring in and out of cramped spaces effortless. Also making its debut in the Countryman Sports is an 8.8-inch touchscreen display with navigation as part of the infotainment system which is also controlled via a Mini Touch Controller. The information is also displayed on the windscreen via the head-up display, another new feature in the Mini. The sound system is a 36-watt output, 12-speaker Harman Kardon set-up, optimised to the Countryman’s cabin.

The powertrain remains the same as the standard Cooper S Countryman launched last year: a two-litre, 192bhp and 280Nm, four-cylinder, twin-scroll turbocharged engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddleshifts.

The new Mini Cooper S Countryman Sports comes in two tone livery with a two roof colour choices: white or black. For the white roof, the body colours available are Chilli Red and British Racing Green. With the black roof, Chilli Red, British Racing Green Thunder Grey and Light White paintwork is available.

The on-the-road price, without insurance, of the new Mini Countryman with Mini 4 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service is RM 245,888.00
