Mercedes-Benz Bicycles

Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH and renown performance bicycle manufacturer Focus have teamed up to develop and produce an exclusive range of four Mercedes-Benz bicycles for on- and off-road use.

The new Mercedes bikes have a signature look of black frames with blue contrasts on the saddle and chain struts.

The Mountain Bike
The carbon frame makes this bike weigh only 11.4kg. With 27.5 or 29 inch wheels and four different frame heights (38/42 and 46/50), there is a right size for everyone. The shifter cables and brake lines are installed in the frame. The Hardtail is equipped with a Reba RL suspension fork with 100 mm spring travel from RockShox. The SLX group from Shimano (22 gears) is used on the chain ring and crank. Shimano-Deore disc brakes on the front and rear axles also prove reliable on downhill passages. This bike rolls on Continental Race King SL 2.2 tires.

The Racing Bike
At approximately 7.9 kg, the Racing Bike is even lighter. Like the mountain bike, it has a carbon frame with internal shifter cables. The fork is also made of carbon. The 28-inch wheels are DT-SWISS R522, topped with Continental Ultrasport SL tires. A total of 22 gears can be selected, as on the rear axle sits an 11-speed cassette (Shimano Ultegra), chain ring is a Shimano 105. The stem, handlebar, saddle and support come from Concept. Braking in the front and rear is done with the hydraulic disc brake Shimano Ultegra.

The Fitness Bike
The Fitness Bike has an aluminium frame and 28-inch wheels, aligned with Schwalbe Smart Sam tires. Hydraulic disc brakes (Tektro HD-M285) allow safe deceleration; the chain shifting with 27 gears always guarantees the optimal translation ratio. The switching group comes from Shimano (Alivio / Acera). The suspension fork (SR Suntour NEX HLO) has a spring travel of 63 mm and can be locked – practically on slopes, for example. The bike weighs approx. 13.5 kg.

The Trekking Bike
Similar to the fitness bike but equipped with Nabendynamo, mudguards and carrier carriers, the Trekking Bike is ready for the next trip. In contrast to its fitness model brother, the trekking bike weighs approximately 15.6 kg and rolls on Schwalbe Citizen Light tires.

Mercedes-Benz is also about safety and the bike helmets from uvex for Mercedes-Benz fit perfectly with the new bikes from Focus. There are three styles available playing on the theme of black with blue accents. The unisex model has vent openings and an adjustable belt system to vary the fit between 56 to 61 cm.

All bikes are available now though they may not be offered in the Malaysia or Singapore market.
