Mazda CX-8 makes debut in Singapore, from $153,888

Mazda CX-8 SUV available in six and seven seat configuration

Mazda CX-8 SUV is now available in Singapore. The front-wheel drive, three-row SUV is offered in six- and seven-seat configurations in two trim levels, Elegance and Luxury. The six-seater has two seats, in the middle row, identical to the driver and front passenger seats.

The 2.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine produces 191bhp at 6000rpm and 258Nm at 4000rpm and is paired with six speed automatic transmission.

The CX-8 has G-Vectoring Control Plus, the latest version of G-Vectoring Control, which reduces body roll for faster recovery and improved stability while cornering. GVC Plus works by lightly applying brake force to the outer wheels as the steering wheel is returned to the centre position. This provides a recovery moment to restore the vehicle to straight-line running. As a result, the car handles emergency avoidance and manoeuvre better and improves controllability in situations like lane changes at high speeds and driving on slippery surfaces. GVC Plus reinforces stability, alleviates driver workload and provides a more comfortable, smoother ride.

The Mazda CX-8 has i-Activsense safety features which includes

• Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
• Advanced Smart City Brake Support (Advanced SCBS) with day and night pedestrian detection
• Driver Attention Alert (DAA).

There is also a 360° camera and display system with eight parking sensors, front and rear, that detect obstacles and trigger an alarm. Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) are only available for 6-seater and 7-seater Luxury variants.
