Lotus Evora 400 Exclusive livery: the power of social media

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the company’s founding in Hethel, Norfolk, Lotus Cars launched a poll on social media for fans to pick their favourite from a selection of designs created by Lotus’s design team. These ran from modern interpretations of classic automotive colour combinations to the more traditional: Lotus liveries from the past..

The global campaign was run through Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

The outright winner was the Blue & Orange edition, the famous racing colour scheme first seen in the 1960s. The black leather upholstery has orange contrast stitching. Black forged wheels and red brake calipers complete the car’s distinctive look. The Evora 400 Exclusive, pictured, is a limited run of just 10 cars in this livery.

The Evora 400 weighs 1395kg and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds to a maximum speed of 300 km/h.

Supercharged and charge-cooled, the mid-mounted 3.5-litre V6 engine produces 400 bhp and 410 Nm of torque. A six speed manual gearbox is standard but options include automatic transmission, with paddles on the steering wheel, and cruise control.

The hand-built cabin is a combination of Alcantara and leather. A 2+2 coupe, the Evora 400 boasts more passenger space than its predecessor with greater legroom and wider rear seats.  Another improvement has been to the door aperture which has been increased in size, making it easier to get in and out.

The Lotus Exclusive treatment is available on all Lotus cars, including the new Elise Cup 250 and Exige Sport 350, and offers customers the opportunity to tailor their Lotus to their personal tastes, covering everything from colour coding through to race car preparation, making it truly “made-to-measure”.
