Volvo S60 T8 CKD launched via livestream

Volvo Car Malaysia has launched the Volvo S60 T8 CKD via a livestream on Facebook.  The car is built at the Volvo assembly plant in Shah Alam.

The price and engine specs remain the same as the imported S60 T8. Price is RM296,000 on the road without insurance. The Volvo S60T8 is a plug-in hybrid with a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol engine and electric motor. It is all-wheel drive with electrically-driven rear wheels. The gearbox is an eight-speed automatic. The hybrid battery is 11.6 kWh Lithium-ion. Performance-wise, 0-100km/h takes 4.4 seconds, top speed is 250km/h. Max power is 407bhp at 57000rpm while max torque is 640Nm at 1200-5400rpm.

The S60 T8 CKD comes with 19-inch rims, like the CBU version. New in the locally-assembled car is Pilot Assist. The Pilot Assist system – which supports the driver with steering, acceleration and braking on well-marked roads up to 130km/h – has been upgraded with improved cornering performance.

The Volvo S60 T8 CKD also includes Run-off Road Mitigation, Oncoming Lane Mitigation and other steering assistance systems. The Cross Traffic Alert further enhances safety for people inside and outside the car designed to detect traffic crossing behind the car when reversing.

Four colours are available: Crystal White Pearl, Fusion Red Metallic, Onyx Black Metallic and Pebble Grey Metallic.
