JAC now in Malaysia with T9 pickup launch, from RM120k

JAC T9 available in two variants, T9 Diesel and T9 BEV

JAC trucks are now in Malaysia with the launch of two T9 truck variants: 2.0-litre diesel and an all-electric, the first 4X4 electric pickup truck in Malaysia. The T9 2.0L diesel is the only pickup truck in Malaysia with a 5-star Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) safety rating under the latest scoring methodology.

The 2.0-litre diesel delivers 168bhp and 410Nm from 1500-2500rpm. The transmission is a ZF eight-speed automatic with 2WH, 4WH and 4WL gearing options. There is Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System features which include:

The BEV 4×4 is powered by an 88 kWh LFP battery pack with an estimated 340 kilometres of WLTP range on a full charge. The EV dual-motor setup delivers a total power output of 220kW (295bhp) and peak torque of 516Nm. Top speed is 140km/h. Charging with DC fast charging at 88kW, the battery goes from 15 per cent to 80 per cent in 45 minutes. Meanwhile, AC charging from 15 per cent to 100 per cent takes approximately 8 hours and 30 minutes.

The T9 has five drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, Snow and Off-road. There is a seven-inch instrument cluster and 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and also a 360º high-definition camera. For charging, there is a 50W wireless charger as well as USB and Type-C charging points and a 220V multi-power socket. A cooling air vent in the arm rest can keep items chilled. There is also 64-colour ambient light and music rhythm lighting.

JAC T9 Diesel is RM119,888, on-the-road, without insurance. Warranties are as follows:

• eight years or unlimited mileage engine warranty for the first owner, whichever comes first, subject to the applicable service policy.
• five years or unlimited mileage warranty, whichever comes first.

JAC T9 BEV at RM199,888, on-the-road, without insurance. Comes with 6 years or 200,000km warranty for the battery, whichever comes first.
