Chery Tiggo Cross now in Malaysia from RM89k

Chery Tiggo Cross available in two variants, 1.5-litre turbo and 1.5-litre hybrid.

The Chery Tiggo Cross is now in Malaysia. The small SUV is available in two variants, the 1.5-litre turbo petrol at RM88,800 or the 1.5-litre hybrid at RM99,800, the B-segment Chery Tiggo Cross costs less than the A-segment Honda WR-V.

The Turbo has a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine which produces 147PS and 210Nm of torque paired with a six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The claimed fuel consumption is 6.3L per 100km.

Meanwhile the Hybrid CSH variant has a 1.5-litre petrol engine that produces 96 PS and 120Nm of torque and an electric motor which when combined produces a combined output of 204PS and 310Nm of torque. The gearbox is a Chery advanced Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). The claimed consumption is 5.4L per 100km.

The Chery Super Hybrid system is a a next-generation hybrid powertrain. Key highlights of the CSH are

• Dedicated Hybrid Engine with high thermal efficiency and low fuel consumption
• High-Density Dedicated Hybrid Transmission for responsive power delivery
• Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) Battery capable of fast charging

The CSH system operates through five drive modes:

1. EV Mode – silent, zero-emission electric driving
2. Tandem Mode – where the engine acts as a generator while the electric motor powers the wheels
3. Parallel Mode – both the engine and motor work together for improved performance
4. Direct Engine Mode – at speeds above 80 km/h, the engine directly drives the vehicle
5. Energy Recovery Mode – where regenerative braking and coasting automatically recharge the battery

The advanced CSH systems claims a driving range of up to 1000km.

There is a seven years warranty coverage or up to 150,000km, which ever comes first. There is also Roadside Assistance which includes seven years free towing service.
