Chery Omoda E5 now in Malaysia at RM147k

Chery Omoda E5 is first EV in Malaysia from China automaker

Chery Omoda E5 debuts in Malaysia. The first EV from Chery, initial models will be fully imported from China before assembly begins in Malaysia. The Omoda E5 will be the first EV assembled in Malaysia.

The Omoda E5 has a 3-in-1 flat-wire motor and three electronic control systems which provide ultra-low power consumption at 15.5kwh/100km, long range of 430km and fast charging from 30 per cent to 80 per cent in 28 minutes.

The EV is powered by 61kWh high-capacity lithium iron phosphate blade battery that delivers 201bhp and 340Nm of torque and 430km range WLTP range.

The AC charging rate is 9.9kW, while DC charging operates at 80kW. Fast DC charging can replenish the battery from 30% to 80% in 28 minutes. The battery’s longevity reduces replacement costs.

The E5 has Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology which transforms your electric vehicle into a portable power source. With V2L, you can power electronic devices directly from your vehicle.

Interior-wise, there is a 24.6-inch curved 2k HD dual screen, ambient lighting and Sony sound system. In addition, the 50W Qi charger has a cooling fan to keep the phone cool during recharging. The boot is 483L.

The Omoda 5E comes in

• Dark Black.

There are two faux leather interior colour options: two-tone blue and white-beige and all-black.

The Chery Omoda 5 is RM146,800 which includes seven-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, eight-year or 160,000km battery warranty and eight-year or 160,000km drive unit warranty which covers the Power Motor, Power Motor Control Unit, Power Battery Management System and the Vehicle’s Control Unit. In addition, Chery Malaysia is also offering a one-to-one exchange if the battery’s state of health falls below 70% during the warranty period.
