BYD Atto 3 launched in Malaysia, from RM150k

BYD Atto 3 is the most affordable electric car in Malaysia

BYD Atto 3 SUV made its debut today in Malaysia. The Atto 3 is all-wheel drive. It’s built on the BYD 3.0 platform, a modular platform developed specifically for EVs. The China-made electric SUV is available in two variants, Standard Range and Extended Range.

The Standard battery capacity is 49.92kWh and has a range of 410km while the Extended’s is 60.48 and a range of 480km. The motor produces 203bhp, 310Nm of torque and accelerates from standstill to 100km/h in 7.3 seconds.

The length is 4455mm, the width 1875mm and it’s 1615mm high. The wheelbase is 2720mm. The boot capacity is 440litres, expandable to 1340litres. The suspension is MacPherson strut in front with a multi-link rear. The rims on the Standard are 17-inch. The Extended has 18-inch rims.

The infotainment system and instrument cluster displays are digital. The The infotainment screen is a 12.8-inch monitor which can be rotated for horizontal or vertical display. The instrument panel is a five-inch panel. There is Apple Carplay and Android Auto, both wireless.

Features in the Atto 3 include LED headlights, follow me home headlights, adptive front lights, LED rear lights and ambient lighting on the door handles.  The front seats have power adjustments. The interior is upholstered in synthetic leather.

The Standard Range is RM149,800. The Extended Range is RM167,800.
