Automobili Lamborghini producing Covid-19 protective gear

Supercar maker, Automobili Lamborghini converts production plant to fighting Covid-19 pandemic

Automobili Lamborghini will produce surgical masks and protective plexiglass shields during the Covid-19 pandemic. The medical equipment will be donated to Sant’Orsola-Malpighi Hospital in Bologna.

The Saddlery Department personnel will make up to 1000 surgical masks a day. In addition, up to 200 medical shields will be made a day using 3D printers from the carbon fibre production plant and the Research and Development department.

The initiative to support the medical personnel is in collaboration with the University of Bologna and has been approved by the Emilia-Romagna Region. The masks and shields will tested by the Department of Medical and Surgical Sciences to ensure they meet regulatory standards before delivery to the hospital.
