All-new Toyota RAV4 makes debut in Malaysia

Fully-imported from Japan, the RAV4 SUV starts from RM196,436 for the 2.0-litre

The fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 SUV is now in Malaysia. The RAV4 is bigger than its predecessor with a 30mm longer wheelbase. Two variants are offered, a 2.0-litre engine paired with a CVT gearbox and a 2.5-litre engine with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Both come with three driving modes, paddle shifts and Toyota Safety Sense.

In the cabin, there are colour Multi-information Displays and a TFT combination meter which can display information in analogue or digital. The smart infotainment system can be connected to other devices by Mirrorlink, Miracast, AUX, Bluetooth, AppleCarPlay and Android Auto.

Conveniences include Kick Sensor Power Back Door to release the tailgate, keyless entry and push button start, a multitude of USB ports, wireless charging pad and ambient lighting.

There are seven airbags and Toyota Safety Sense which includes a Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Lane Tracing Assist,  Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Electro-Chromic (EC) rearview mirror to cut dazzle from vehicles behind, Automatic High Beam. Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), both alert the driver when there are vehicles in the blind spot.

An Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with HOLD feature for slopes, front and rear recording cams, Tyre Pressure Warning system, ISOFIX points, engine immobiliser and alarm system, with a Vehicle Telematics System (VTS) to track the car if it gets stolen.

The RAV4 2.5L is priced from RM215,665 and RAV4 2.0L from RM196,436 (both prices excluding insurance). Both variants are available with six exterior colour choices – Dark Blue Mica, Gray Metallic, White Pearl CS, Red Mica, Attitude Black and Silver Metallic.
