All-new BYD Atto 2 now in Malaysia, from RM100k

All-new BYD Atto 2 is the second BYD vehicle to launch this year

The all-new BYD Atto 2 is now in Malaysia. The compact crossover is 4310mm long, 1830mm wide, 1675mm high with a wheelbase of 2620mm. As a comparison, the Atto 2 is around the size of the Proton X50 and marginally smaller than the Honda HR-V.

Powered by a 130kW electric motor at the front wheels that deliver 290Nm of torque, acceleration from 0-100km/h takes 7.9 seconds. The NEDC range is 410km which is approximately 349km by WLTP range calculations.

The blade battery is 51.13 kWh and supports AC charging at 7kw and DC charging at 82kW.

The Atto 2 has LED lights throughout. These include:

• headlights with follow-me-home feature,
• daytime running lights
• taillight and lightbar
• third brake light
• cabin front reading light
• cabin rear reading light
• luggage compartment light

There are six airbags as well as ABS, electric parking brake, auto hold, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and Hill Descent Control. Also Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, ISOFIX child seat anchors, 360º view monitor and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) safety features:

The driver’s seat has six-way power adjustments. There is a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen monitor, 8.8-inch LCD digital instrument panel, Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Other features in the BYD Atto 2 include PM2.5 air filtering, 50W Phone Wireless Charging, keyless entry & keyless start, portable card key, BYD digital key and Bluetooth Key.

Three colours are available: Ski White, Harbour Grey and Breeze Green, all with black synthetic leather interior.

The BYD Atto 2 is RM100,700, on-the-road without insurance. The warranties provided are as follows:

• six-year/ 150,000km vehicle warranty
• eight-year / 160,000km warranty for the high-voltage battery
• eight-year / 150,000km warranty for the drive unit

In addition, there are also complimentary accessories, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) adapter and Type 2 charging cable with 3-pin plug.
