All-electric SUV BMW iX3 M Sport now in Malaysia

Electric SUV, BMW iX3 is available in two variants, Inspiring and Impressive

BMW Malaysia launched the BMW iX3 M Sport during NextGen Malaysia. The BMW i4 and BMW iX also made their debuts. Two variants are offered, the BMW iX3 M Sport Inspiring and the higher specced BMW iX3 M Sport Impressive.

The all-electric BMW iX3 has fast charging capabilities, up to 150kW using DC fast-charging stations, increasing its range at a rate of approximately 100 km per 10 minutes (according to the WLTP test cycle).The gross battery capacity of 80 kWh (around 74 kWh net) and low energy consumption of 18.5 kWh/100 km, gives the BMW iX3 M Sport to 461 km in one full charge (WLTP). The current-excited synchronous motor generates up to 286 hp (210 kW) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, delivered to the rear wheels. The century sprint takes 6.8 seconds.

The iX3 is based on the X3 SUV with styling details specific to the iX3. The iX3 with M Sport Package comes with M Aerodynamics Package. Exterior highlights include M Roof rails in high-gloss Shadowline, as well as airbreathers behind the front wheel arches, to improve aerodynamics. The front and rear of have BMW i Blue elements, denoting it is an electric vehicle. The boot is 510-litres expandable to 1560-litres. Available as standard are the comfort access system, automatic tailgate operation, luggage-compartment separating net, through-loading system and storage compartment package.

The BMW iX3 Inspiring has 19-inch aerodynamic wheels, while the Impressive has 20-inch M aerodynamic wheels in 890 M Bicolour. For headlights, the Inspiring comes equipped with Adaptive LED Headlights, while BMW Laserlight is standard for the Impressive. Both variants come with high-beam assistant as standard.

The central control display is 12.3-inches with control panels below with BMW i elements including a blue start-stop button. Other interior features are:

In front, the sports seats have a host of features such as multiple adjustment angles and heating. At the rear, the backrests are also adjustable. Other standard conveniences are three-zone automatic air-conditioning and automatic anti-dazzle mirrors. In the Impressive variant, BWM Heads-Up Display, gesture control, acoustic glazing on the windows and BMW IconicSounds Electric which gives the iX3 a range of sounds while being driven.

Intelligent driver assistant systems are installed in the iX3. These include Driving Assistant Professional, Active Protection and tyre pressure monitoring. The BMW iX3 M Sport Inspiring comes with the Parking Assistant as standard, while the Impressive variant is complete with the Parking Assistant Plus.

For connectivity, both variants have Connected Package Professional, country-specific telephony with wireless charging and BMW Live Cockpit Professional. For on-the-road entertainment, the Inspiring is equipped with a Harman Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system, while the Impressive is furnished with a Harman Kardon surround sound system.
