Proton e.Mas 7 Tour clocks combined mileage of 3224km in nationwide EV journey
Proton e.Mas 7 Tour is now on its third leg with Proton’s first electric vehicle covering 1147km through the East Coast states of Malaysia. In the earlier southern and northern excursions, the car covered 894km and 1183km, bringing the total mileage to over 3200km.
The nationwide tour is an opportunity for all Malaysian car buyers to see the e.Mas 7 which is the first EV by a Malaysian OEM. It is also part of the testing phase to ensure durability and reliability of the hardware such as the Aegis Short Blade Battery pack powering the 12-in-1 Integrated Drive System. The intelligent software embedded in the e.MAS 7 also underwent intense testing to ensure it’s integration and functionality are complete.
Powering the Excursion North
Prior to the most recent leg, the second part in the e.MAS 7 Tour got underway with the convoy heading on open roads to the North of Peninsular Malaysia, showing off the model’s ability as a highway cruiser with regenerative braking and 160kW of power on demand. At the first stop in Ipoh, the tour engaged with the public at three different Proton e.MAS dealerships.
The entourage then carried on further northwards to Penang taking in various stops at Penang’s popular foodie hotspots, places of interest and dealerships and the opportunities for the public to engage with the car. As at other spots, members of the public were most curious about performance, intelligent safety features, spaciousness and the design.
Finally, the journey continued towards Perlis, with pit stops along the way at dealer showrooms in Sungai Petani, Kedah, where locals who were keen to find out more, first-hand, about the EV that would be launched in December.
Intelligence Heads East
During the leg to the East Coast, the C-segment electric SUV was able to traversed 1,147km through Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan.
Enroute to Kelantan, the convoy visited picturesque localities in Kuala Terengganu including the Drawbridge and Pasar Payang where again there were dealer visits and public viewings.
