All-new VW Golf R-Line CKD announced, RM169,990
The all-new VW Golf R-Line is now available at RM169,990. This is not the hot-hatch Golf R. The R-Line has C-signature front bumper, 17-inch Valencia alloy wheels and a pair of chrome-effect trapezoid faux exhaust tailpipe.
The 1.4-litre engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Output is 148bhp and 250Nm of torque.
The Golf R-Line has full LED headlights and taillights and front sport seats fitted in Sardegna fabric, Art Velours side bolsters with R-line logo embossed on the headrest. There is also a smart key. The smart key automatically unlocks the doors when the key is detected nearby. The intelligent voice control system responds to voice commands for several features including reducing air-con temperature and the opening and closing of windows.
Voice recognition and voice quality (for phone calls) are seamless, as they can locate the person who is speaking (driver or front passenger) and respond accordingly.
Also included are three-zone air-con which comes with modes, Smart Climate and Classic Climate, and each comes with various helpful functions. There is also Air Care to filter out pollen, spores, and particulates to keep the air clean.
The boot space is 381-litres.
Other key safety features include ABS, ESC (Electronic Stability Control); Post Collision Braking System that prevents a second collision; Electronic Differential Lock (XDS) that improves traction and reduce understeer; and six airbags for post-collision protection.
The R-Line is available in five colours, including two new ones – Moonstone Grey and metallic Kings Red. Other colours are Atlantic Blue in metallic finishing, as well as Deep Black and Oryx White with pearl effect.
