McLaren Artura is McLaren’s first series production hybrid model
The McLaren Artura has made its debut in Malaysia. McLaren’s first series production hybrid, the supercar is built on a new platform called the McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA) which combines an all-new carbon fibre monocoque passenger tub, a new chassis with aluminium crash beams and rear subframe, and a first-to-market domain-based ethernet electrical architecture.
A plug-in hybrid, the McLaren Artura also has an all-new engine – a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine – with an axial-flux motor and battery pack that produces a combined output of 671bhp and 720Nm. The power from the combustion engine is 577bhp – approaching 200 horsepower per litre – and 585Nm. The 160kg V6 engine weighs 50kg less than the McLaren V8. The weight-saving, combined with the lightweight body, super-formed aluminium and carbon fibre, results in a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of 481bhp/tonne. The transmission is eight-speed with e-reverse.
The time from zero to 100km/h is 3.0 seconds, 0-200km/h takes 8.3 seconds; and 0-300km/h is achieved in 21.5 seconds.
Yet, the Artura also lays claim to being the most fuel-efficient McLaren ever produced at 50+ mpg and the lowest emissions of 129g/km CO2 in combined EU WLTP*). The 7.4kWh battery supports 30km* electric-only range.
The McLaren Artura has a five-year vehicle warranty; six-year battery warranty and 10-year body warranty
The starting price is RM1,050,000 before tax. For more information, go to //cars.mclaren.com/en/artura
