GLC 63 S 4MATIC & GLC 63 S Coupé 4MATIC debut in Malaysia -

Mercedes-Benz launches three performance SUVs at Sepang International Circuit: Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S 4MATIC+ and GLC 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé, and G63.

The GLC is now available in two Mercedes-AMG variants, the GLC 63 S and the GLC 63 S Coupé. They share the same features and performance figures but in two different body styles: the conventional, practical high roofline, and the sportier sloping roofline of a coupé.

A first on the GLCs is the Panamericana grille, previously the preserve of the AMG GT sports cars. Other stand-out design elements which differentiate the two performance SUVs from the “standard” models are the wide front apron, large front splitter and wider front and rear wheel arch claddings. These have the additional function of channelling airflow more efficiently while giving the all-terrain capable vehicles a more muscular look.

The Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S SUVs are powered by AMG-designed 4.0-litre eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine, now ubiquitously paired with the new nine-speed AMG multi-clutch gearbox which made its debut earlier this year in the Mercedes-AMG E63 4MATIC+. With its output of 510bhp and maximum torque of 700Nm, the 0-100km/h time is 3.8 seconds while top speed is 270km/h.

In addition to four-wheel drive is AMG sport air suspension, adaptive damping and four drive modes: Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Individual. There is also manual mode with gear changes managed through the steering-mounted shift paddle.

AMG Night package is offered to enhance the racing-inspired looks: high-gloss black accessories and matt-black 21-inch AMG cross-spoke wheels outside; red designo seat belts, Nappa leather upholstered sports seats and black Artico covered interior.
