BMW X2 makes Malaysia debut

BMW’s latest SUV the all-new X2 SUV has arrived in Malaysia. The first-ever X2 is available as a front-wheel drive and will be available in one trim level, the BMW X2 sDrive20i M Sport.

The two-litre four-cylinder twin-scroll turbo engine is tuned to produce 192bhp and 280Nm of torque and paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Zero to 100km/h takes 7.7 seconds. Top speed is 227km/h.  There are three drive modes: Comfort, Eco Pro and Sport. The X2 is equipped with Performance Control that allows engine control and brake intervention when cornering.

There is contactless tailgate opening to gain access to the 470 litre cargo area which, when the 40/20/40 split-fold rear seats are collapsed, expands to 1355 litres. Electric front seats are standard with the addition of memory function for the driver.

The headlights on the BMW X2 are LED as are the foglamps and daytime running lights. The Driver Assistance system includes cruise control with brake function and Park Assistant to parallel park the car. The X2 also has Park Distance Control and a rear-view camera. The Navigation system comes with full-colour BMW Head-Up Display. There are six colour choices for the cabin’s LED ambient lighting: orange, lilac, mint, bronze, blue and white.

The external colour offered for the first-ever BMW X2 are Galvanic Gold Metallic, Misano Blue Metallic and Sunset Orange Metallic. These come with a black interior colour scheme with contrasting Grey seams. There is also the Black Sapphire metallic model with Magma Red interior with contrasting Grey seams. 19-inch M light alloy wheels fitted with run-flat tyres are standard.
